My goal in breeding Shih Tzu- to breed the most wonderful companions that you could ask for, that are good enough examples of the breed to compete in conformation and win! I see people breeding for the best show dog they can produce, and losing track of the fact that these were bred to be companions, and my thought is that if you aren't breeding something you love to live with, you are failing! My dogs are in the house with me, and are all true joys- each unique. When I got my first Shih Tzu, Miagi, he was so delightful that I knew I wanted to be more involved in the breed. I found they were having a Toy Group Specialty, so went in search of the good breeders and a breed club. I met Carole Delaney & JoAnn Gustafson there. Carole was showing a male with the most charming face you could imagine. His name is Katmandu Ticket to Ride (Harley), and I was enchanted! I followed Carole out of the ring to admire her dog up close, and ask her if she knows of a breed club. As luck would have it, I had found the President! She invited me to attend the next club meeting. Miagi is with my nephew and his darling daughters now, and I have some wonderful show quality dogs from Carole and JoAnn that I am very proud of, and two Champions so far- CH Ningsia's Chun Kee Bob and CH Ningsia's I'm a Keeper. Now I am showing Shih Tzu that I bred myself, and am very proud of them. Not only are they very good Shih Tzu, but they have the temperament that I fell in love with the breed for. They are sweet and happy and CUDDLY! To find out what's going on a Pien Ji, come visit at www.PienJi.com!
